The Gaucho consortium formed by Creral de Erechim and Mil Engenharia de Tapejara This week, the construction of a floating solar plant over the lake Santa Marta PCH, in the municipality of Grão Mogol (MG).

Called UFV Veredas Sol e Lares, DG enterprise (distributed generation) is already in operation, with installed power of 1,2 MWp and with the capacity to meet 1,25 families in 21 municipalities in the Jequitinhonha and Rio Pardo Valleys regions.

The plant is property of Aedas (State Association for Environmental and Social Defense) and included resources of the R&D program da cemig (Minas Gerais Energy Company).

In all, the new floating solar plant occupies a area of 11.000 m2 over the lake, where it operates with 3.050 monocrystalline photovoltaic s, dual glass and thin film, plus more 7,6 thousand floats e 60 thousand meters of cables.

The powerhouse located on the bank of the dam has 14 inverters, transformers and protection switches.

The energy generated is released at medium voltage into the Cemig distribution system until it reaches the homes of ed families.

Assembly began in September 2022 and after completing and putting the plant into operation, the consortium will still be responsible for operating the plant for one year, during which a team will be prepared to continue the operation.

According to the president of Creral, Alderi do Prado, the company's idea now is to also open other floating solar energy plants in other locations in Brazil.

“We have seven hydro plants in operation and others under construction and projects. With the knowledge we have acquired, we now have the possibility of also implementing hybrid generation using the water depth of our plants, which can greatly increase our generation capacity”, highlights Alderi.

Creral is a cooperative that distributes energy in the northern region of Rio Grande do Sul and operates in generation, operating 15 hydro, solar and thermal plants. Mil Engenharia, in turn, works in electrical projects, industrial automation and electrical maintenance.
