Em August 2024, Helius Sunlink PV celebrated its 20th anniversary in the supply of photovoltaic modules to the world market. Since its founding in 2004, company focused on developing high efficiency and quality products, researching and improving technologies that have resulted in the progressive increase in the power and efficiency of its s over two decades.

Os monocrystalline modules who did part of the portfolio between 2004 and 2018 presented efficiencies between 14,1 19,6% and%. The polycrystalline, manufactured between 2010 and 2017, present efficiency between 17 17,8% and%

When it comes to s with mono PERC (ivated Emitter Rear Cell) technology (2018 – 2023), the main characteristic is the combination of monocrystalline cells with a thin layer of a certain material, a process called ivation, causing an optical effect that facilitates the reflection of solar radiation inside the cell, increasing light capture and the energy generated.

In this technology, Helius models have shown efficiencies between 19,3% and 21,3%. Over the years, the constant concern with research aimed at increasing cell efficiency and improvements in production processes has led to the development of photovoltaic s with higher output power, without a significant increase in product dimensions.

TopCon N-Type technology, implemented in 2023, for example, offers a guaranteed power generation of 87,4% in the 30th year. When compared to the PERC type, it can be seen that in the 25th year the power generation forecast is around 84,8%. It can be seen that there is a 3,07% increase in power generation in the same period, in modules of similar area, only with the technological evolution of the s.

“This is a constant question from customers. In addition to asking about the module’s power, they also ask about its dimensions, thinking about the area that the will occupy in their projects,” reported Eduard Joseph Krummenauer, Country Manager of Helius Sunlink PV.

“One of the modules we launched in Intersolar South America 2024 was the 620 W Helius Genesis Plus. The product caught the attention of integrators, who are interested in efficient products for their projects, which deliver more power to the customer and do not take up a larger area”, he highlighted.

Cell types

Regarding cell types, since 2004 Helius has developed modules with cells of different dimensions, including sizes such as 125mm, 156mm, 158mm, 166mm and 182mm.

According to the company, the different cell sizes are developed mainly due to the need to increase module efficiency. For example, by expanding the cell from 125mm to 182mm, there is an increase in efficiency of 46,8%: a jump from 14,1% to 20,7%.

In addition to square cells, working with Half Cell (rectangular) cells brings numerous benefits: less microcracking, less resistive losses due to electrical currents being divided in half and also less losses in energy generation in s installed in partial shade.

Being aware of the market’s needs and developing products that meet these needs is not an easy task, but Helius stated that it has had this vision as a pillar throughout its 20 years of operation: “Our customer-focused approach is crucial for Helius to directly supply quality products to more than 200 countries. Our goal is for our products to be in consumers’ homes around the world, generating savings and longevity for projects.”

“Looking back and seeing all the developments we have made is a source of pride for us, both in of product and volume, production processes and operations. We are present in more than 200 countries and especially in Brazil, with products up to 620 W and TopCon N-Type technology, delivering the best efficiency on the market,” added Krummenauer.

In addition, the executive emphasized that they recently launched the Helius Hyperion Zero Busbar, whose technology further increases the efficiency of the modules. “This evolution and growth is what motivates us to continue investing in research and development, improving our technology to offer increasingly efficient and robust products.”

“Since 2004, we have values based on quality and responsibility, reflecting the search for new technologies, which has led to the Brazilian market having products focused on innovation due to their high efficiency and cutting-edge technology. After 20 years, we have delivered modules with almost 4x greater power and with efficiency up to 62% greater than those initially delivered,” concluded the Country Manager.
