ANEEL authorizes new plants for operation in BA and MG

ANEEL authorizes new plants to operate in Bahia and Minas Gerais

A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) released the operation of new power plants renewable energy in Brazil. The authorizations were published in the DOU (Official Gazette of the Union).

The plants started operating from October 19th, 2024 and include projects of wind and solar energy in testing and commercial phase.

A Power plant Solar Photovoltaic Arinos 10, one of the largest solar power parks in Brazil, located in the city of ArinosOn Minas Gerais (MG), was authorized to begin commercial operations.

With 161 generating units (UG1 to UG161), each with a capacity of 298,87 kW, the plant reaches a total power of 48.118 kW, with the aim of reinforcing the presence of solar energy in the state.

In addition, two were authorized wind farms to start the test operation in the municipality of Gentile of Gold, located in the state of Bahia (BA).

A Serra do Assuruá 2 power plant count with four generating units, identified as UG1 to UG4, each with a capacity of 4.500 kW, totaling a significant power that contributes to the increase in wind generation in the region.

Already Serra do Assuruá 16 power plant has two generating units (UG3 and UG4) also from 4.500 kW each. These plants can take advantage of the potential of consistent winds na northeast region, consolidating the state as a strategic hub for renewable energy generation in Brazil.
