The board of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) unanimously approved the maintenance of the readjustment of the contracted power of Itaipu Binacional. The amount in reais will be equivalent to US$ 17,66 per kilowatt/month (kW/month). The value will be applicable to billings made from April 1st to December 31st of this year.

In December 2024, ENBPar (Empresa Brasileira de Participações em Energia Nuclear e Binacional SA) reported a negative balance of R$ 332.613.953,90 for December 2024. At the time, a temporary extension of the tariff had been approved until the current month of March – which will now be valid until the end of the year.

The tariff is formed by the Unit Cost of Electricity Service (CUSE), the cost of the energy provided to Brazil, the balance of the Electricity , and the cost of the electricity provided to Brazil.
