According to the Agency, the general average effect results from the updating of cost items, the inclusion of the financial components calculated in the current tariff calculation and the removal of the financial components established in the last tariff process.

“For all concessionaires, the rates were impacted, especially by transportation costs. While there was an increase in costs for Ceripa, on the other hand, for concessionaires Ceres, Cerci and Ceral Araruama there was a reduction”, stated the ANEEL in a statement.

  1. These increases give wind and solar renewables, especially the latter, a very interesting alternative for consumers to protect themselves against these increases or adjustments, depending on the point of view of each of them. Hence, we find justifications for the aforementioned electricity supply companies creating difficulties for the dissemination and expansion of these renewables. The complaints of investors and integrators in the sectors for the approval of their projects have full and need the ANEEL comply with the strictness provided for in the legislation in its regulatory and supervisory duties. There is no turning back. Distributed Generation is already a consolidated activity in the electricity segment. For consumers with a prevalent profile during peak hours, where the price of KWh is between 3 and 4 times that of off-peak hours, they can resort to the free market, with due care, as they move from a captive condition to a new relationship with their electricity supplier. They are enthusiastic about these types of energies that are in line with the ESG (environment, social responsibility and management) agenda implemented and disclosed by the UN.
