A electricity bill of Brazilian consumers should rise, average, 5,6% in 2024, according to a projection released by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) this Tuesday (23). 

A estimate is above inflation provided for by central bank for the period: by 3,87%.

Last year, the Agency had informed that it expected an average increase of 6,8% in the value of tariffs. However, the increase recorded was 5,9%. 

Every year, ANEEL readjusts energy rates charged by concessionaires on the “anniversary” date of each concession. 

Os readjustments take into some factors such as: the cost of energy generation and transmission, in addition to sectoral charges. The distributor's own operating costs and inflation in the period are also considered.

No beginning of the year, Canal Solar published a Volt Robotics study that also predicted increases medium na electricity bill of Brazilian consumers above inflation in 2024.

O lifting of the company specialized in the use of data science and intelligent management systems for the energy sector still highlighted that the southern region of the country is expected to the biggest tariff increases of the year.
