A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) approved, this Tuesday (30), the rule that allocates unused R&D (Research and Development) and EE (Energy Efficiency) resources to the CDE (Energy Development ). Due to the economic impacts caused by the Covid-19 pandemic in Brazil, the Agency announced that it will release R$ 2,23 billion in 2021 with the aim of contributing to tariff affordability.
The law determines that such resources not committed to R&D and EE projects contracted or initiated until September 1, 2020 must be allocated to the CDE until December 31, 2025. According to the ANEEL, the normative resolution approved by the same separates the resources related to Research and Development and Energy Efficiency into two parts.
The segment called Liabilities includes resources not used by projects contracted up to September 1st of last year. Of this amount, a total of R$1,750 billion should be allocated to the CDE. The other segment, called Current, is composed of resources that will be collected between September 1st, 2020 and December 31st, 2025.
In this case, it is established that the competences from April to December of this year will consider, monthly, transfers from the months of September 2020 to January 2021. For this case, the collection estimate is R$2,14 billion until 2025, with R$480,06 million in 2021.
