O Brazil already has but of 130 manufacturers of photovoltaic equipment accredited at Finame (Financing Fund for the Acquisition of Industrial Machinery and Equipment).

In total, they are already 134 companies offering your projects on the platform BNDES credits (National Bank for Economic and Social Development), according to data released by ABSOLAR (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association).

Of this amount, there are 107 companies offering photovoltaic kits; 11 offering inverters, seven offering good purchasing conditions for trackers; another seven for photovoltaic modules; in addition to two other companies: one supplying batteries and the other sting boxes.

Among the companies accredited in the fund are well-known brands from the general public, such as BYD; L8 Energy; Mazer; PHB; Techlux; TenBrasil and WEG.

To check which products and brands are ed with Finame, just click here and type in the search bar the name of the company or equipment you want to find.

Increase in the number of manufacturers

In recent years, the total number of photovoltaic manufacturers accredited with Finame has grown significantly.

Between the months of April 2021 and 2022, the increase was 9,5%: it went from 95 companies to 104 – a much lower growth than that seen between April 2022 and 2023, which was almost 30%.

However, if the comparison is made with years that were not so “golden” for solar energy in Brazil, the numbers are even more surprising. In April 2016, for example, there were only 17 manufacturers accredited in the national investment fund.

What is Finame?

Finame is BNDES financing intended for the production and acquisition of new Brazilian-made machinery and equipment. Financing is granted in partnership with accredited financial institutions.

Therefore, it is necessary to look for one of these institutions to access credit. To access financing for machinery and equipment, the company must fall into the following categories:

  • Societies and foundations (national or foreign) that are headquartered and managed in Brazil;
  • Individual entrepreneurs duly ed with the CNPJ and RPEM;
  • Legal entities governed by public law;
  • Self-employed truck drivers who work in cargo transport and want to purchase trucks and/or equipment such as cranes and platforms;
  • Clubs, condominiums, cooperatives, unions and associations.

An answer

  1. Dear editor, this is great news.
    But for the sake of truth, in about 95% of cases, the word “manufacturer” should be replaced by “assembler”, “packager” and “distributor”.
