Brazil reached the mark of 10,32 GW of expansion of electricity generation in 2024 after the ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) releases seven wind farm units in Serra do Assuruá 13, in Bahia, with 31,5 MW of installed power, for commercial operation.
Currently, of the 10,32 GW, approximately 91% of the installed power comes from solar photovoltaic (51,87%) and wind (39,19%) sources.
Among the 283 new plants implemented in the year, there are 139 photovoltaic solar plants (5.354,17 MW), 115 wind plants (4.045,40 MW), 20 thermoelectric plants (869,70 MW), seven small hydroelectric plants (47,50 MW) and two hydroelectric generating plants (4,60 MW).
Last year, the milestone reached was 10,31 GW of expansion of the electrical matrix.
The growth in 2024 of installed power added to the Brazilian electricity matrix is ed for by the inspection of ANEEL and is available for consultation by interested parties in the Supply Expansion Monitoring Report, the RALIE. Click here to access.
