Become a global player in the production, storage, distribution and export of renewable energy. This is the objective of Ceará, which is investing in H2V (green hydrogen) projects and establishing partnerships to attract investments and boost the economy in the region.
One of the companies that should contribute to this initiative is Qair Brasil, which has started studies to build an H2V plant in the state. The program, which is expected to have an investment of US$3,9 billion, will be implemented in four stages, from 2023 to 2030.

According to the company, the H2V plant will be able to produce 2,24 GW of power through electrolysis. Furthermore, they highlighted that part of the energy needed for production will be supplied by the company's own solar and wind farms installed in Ceará.
The expectation is that a memorandum of understanding will be signed with the Ceará government by the end of this month. Since the beginning of the year, the State has been looking for investors to implement green hydrogen in the Port of Pecém, considered a strategic point for the production and export of this source.
H2V could compete with fossil fuels by 2030
Hydrogen produced with renewable electricity could compete on costs with fossil fuels by 2030, according to a report released by IRENA (International Renewable Energy Agency).
