A cemig (Minas Gerais Energy Company) announced, this Thursday (14), which started to adopt new parameters technical analysis for evaluating DG connections (distributed generation) for consumers low voltage for residential, rural and commercial classes, with load up to 50 kW.

The new criteria have immediate validity and, according to the company, will enable the expansion of connections in this modality, as long as there is no risk to other customers and the distributor's system.

The new criteria adopted are divided into three items:

Item 1: In the case of a request for local micro DG without flow reversal, the analysis will be carried out in accordance with REN 1.000, without applying Art. 73 of the standard.

Item 2: For requests for local micro DG in consumer units with billing in the last 12 months and indication of flow reversal, the customer will have the options listed in §1 of Article 73 of REN 1.000. Especially in relation to the possibility of reducing the injected power, the customer's consumption history over the last 12 months will also be analyzed to release the local micro DG connection up to the limit of their profile.

Item 3: The new criteria also cover the case of requests for local micro DG for new consumer units or units with less than 12 months of billing, with an indication of flow reversal. As it is a new consumer unit with no consumption history or that does not have a 12-month billing history, the same provisions in item 2 apply. However, the release of the local micro GD connection will consider the average consumption of the class and load factor based on the results of the measurement campaign from the last tariff review process.

Resolution No. 1.000

According to Cemig, the new criteria adopted by the company come ahead of the discussions on updating the regulations set out in the technical note of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) which deals with the topic, in light of Aneel Normative Resolution No. 1.000 (REN 1000), which establishes the rules for providing the public electricity distribution service.

“It is important to highlight that analyzes of technical conditions will be maintained regarding severe impacts on the distribution network, which could degrade the quality of supply or compromise operational safety,” said Marney Tadeu Antunes, director of Cemig.
