Much has been said that the distributed energy generation It's a rich thing. Some segments and agents in the electricity sector use this motto to say that GD penalizes the “poorest” due to cross subsidies.

The great truth is that The arguments of those who write and say what they think is increasingly falling apart.. But, fortunately, there are numbers that are impartial and coldly and accurately portray reality.

So I decided to create a table with the numbers provided by the ANEEL about GD, on 26/12/2022, socioeconomic information on the Brazilian population collected from the Census/IBGE, focusing on income by social class, and residential energy consumption provided by EPE.

Os numbers lay bare the social and economic reality in which distributed generation is inserted, and can serve as a basis for decision-making by the new government, which in its program prioritizes the less favored classes.

The numbers are shown in the table below and can be compared by anyone who wants and wants. The conclusion is as follows: 96% of distributed generation in the residential class serves consumers in classes C, D and E; and only 4% serve classes A and B.

The numbers prove exactly the opposite, the overwhelming majority of distributed generation adopters are from the classes with the lowest household income, and the most favored ones, this time, are a significant minority. This thing that GD is for rich people doesn't work anymore, find another speech because this one doesn't make sense anymore.
