The Fort Atacadista chain, which belongs to the Pereira Group, recently opened its store in Santa Cruz do Sul (RS) with a covered parking lot. The store, which covers over 3.8 square meters, received an investment of R$45 million, part of which was used to implement a solar system.

The installation is in grid zero mode, which uses 100% of the energy generated locally, without exporting it to the concessionaire's grid. Currently, the Pereira Group uses 97% of its energy from renewable sources in its more than 130 units in the country.

According to Samuel Mutini, the group's national energy and maintenance manager, 13 photovoltaic plants are already in operation, with six under construction, five contracted for implementation, and another five in the budget phase. "The total investment between what is already in operation and the plants under construction should exceed R$33 million, with energy savings of approximately 30% per unit," says Mutini.

In addition to the new unit in Rio Grande do Sul, other stores in the group, such as the one in Lages (SC), which opened on December 4, will also have photovoltaic systems. In Mato Grosso do Sul, the structure of the Comper Itanhangá supermarket is already completely covered with solar s.
