Grant requests for solar plants grow 270% in April

Data released by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) show the good performance of solar energy in the country. In April, the number of requests for authorization for the production of photovoltaic energy grew by 270%.

According to the agency, the volume represents an increase of 5.402,77 MW, compared to 1.458,90 MW, ed in March. The majority of these orders are concentrated in the state of Minas Gerais (4.020,80 MW).

The survey also points out that the growth of solar sources can be seen in the accumulated period between October 2019 and March 2020. Requests for granting more than 17,2 GW were ed, of which 11,5 GW were from photovoltaic energy and 4,62 GW for wind farms.

Other data

In the previous month, 59 plants were ed with 2.350,84 MW of installed power. Of this total, 1.361,40 MW came from solar energy and 847,88 MW from wind.

In generation, projects for small hydroelectric, solar and biomass thermal plants were also included. The states that received the largest amount of incentives were Piauí (374 MW), Rio Grande do Norte (303,6 MW) and Bahia (274,8 MW).
