Grupo Moura and SAE Brasil sign partnership to promote electric mobility

Companies are carrying out a study to stimulate policies and create solutions for the sector in the country

Grupo Moura entered into a partnership with SAE Brazil to collaborate in promoting policies and developing solutions for mobility in the country. There will be ten months of research in more than 40 cities, 24 states and almost 30 thousand km.

The program, which started this month, aims to survey different realities by traveling through the most remote regions of Brazil in a vehicle specially adapted for the dynamics of the project, using Moura batteries for electric autonomy.

According to the company, the “SAE Brasil Mobility Observatory” aims to identify different mobility scenarios and needs of Brazilian regions. The identified solutions will be presented to the public sectors and industry. The researchers are traveling in a Sprinter van that has been transformed into a motorhome (home and mobile office).

According to Moura, it was necessary to design and adapt an electrical system capable of carrying out daily battery charging and discharging cycles. Charging and regeneration will be carried out through the car's own movement, using the alternator to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy.

“The battery’s main function is to store the electricity generated by the vehicle’s alternator, which will be used to power the electrical equipment in the home part of the van”, highlighted Antônio Júnior, engineering director at Moura. “For the project we will use batteries from the MS series Solar line, designed with a focus on performance during solar energy storage, even at high temperatures”, he concluded.
