Grêmio receives certificate for achieving 100% renewable consumption

Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense won the renewable energy certificate from Electric Consultoria, cproving that all the energy consumed in 2024 came from clean sources, without greenhouse gas emissions.

The certification reinforces the club's commitment to sustainable practices and the transition to a cleaner energy matrix. “Renewable energy, in addition to generating a considerable percentage in the reduction of CO2, also brings significant advantages to the club in of cost reduction, as we use cheaper energy,” said Grêmio's Asset Manager, Fernando Radin.

By adopting sources such as solar, wind, biomass and small hydroelectric plants (SHPs), the gaucho club avoided the estimated emission of 17,6 thousand tons of CO₂ equivalent in 2024. 

On its official website, Grêmio reported that it will continue to be committed to expanding its sustainable actions and “consolidating itself as an institution concerned not only with performance on the field, but also with the environmental impact of its activities”, says the club's note.

Electric Consulting Certificate

The renewable energy certificate granted by Electric Consultoria is a recognition that attests to the consumption of 100% electrical energy from renewable sources by an organization during a given period. 

This certificate is based on internationally recognized methodologies, such as the GHG Protocol, which quantifies the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions associated with the use of clean energy.

Electric Consultoria operates as an energy manager in the free market, offering services that include the acquisition of energy from renewable sources, such as solar, wind, biomass and PCHs (small hydroelectric plants).
