Electricity sector MP receives 600 parliamentary amendments

Provisional Measure 1.300/2025, which deals with the reform of the electricity sector, received 600 amendments from of parliament. The deadline for submitting proposals ended yesterday, the 27th, marking an intense movement in Congress around the issue.

Deputies and senators from different parties and regions submitted suggestions to change the original text of the provisional measure, published in the Official Gazette of the Union on May 21. From now on, the proposals will be analyzed to define which ones will be incorporated into the final text.

With an initial validity of 60 days – renewable once for the same period –, the MP has generated intense debates in the electricity sector and among parliamentarians, due to the potential impact of the proposed changes.

Among the authors of the amendments are deputies with a history of working in the area, such as João Carlos Bacelar (PL/BA), Beto Richa (PSDB/PR), Pedro Uczai (PT/SC), Lafayette de Andrada (Republicanos/MG), Danilo Forte (União/CE) and Arnaldo Jardim (Cidadania/SP).

In the Senate, important names also stand out, such as the former Minister of Mines and Energy Eduardo Braga (MDB/AM), the former Minister of Justice Sérgio Moro (União/PR), as well as Esperidião Amin (PP/SC), Cid Gomes (PSB/CE) and Omar Aziz (PSD/AM).
