Trina Solar, JinkoSolar, JA Solar, Longi, Risen, Canadian Solar, Tongwei, Astronergy and DAS Solar have come together to ask the international market for standardization of wafers rectangular.
As nine global companies propose a single solar manufacturing size of 2.382mm x 1.134mm, with o spacing of the lateral vertical hole for fixing the module being 400 mm/790 mm/1400 mm.
As companies also propose what do you current and future modules manufactured with 182 mm and 210 mm wafers are designed in the same size in accordance with Technical Specification T/IA 0003-2022, a standard developed by IA extension (China Photovoltaic Industry Association).
O target of manufacturers with this request is resolve problems in the supply and waste of raw materials used in the manufacture of photovoltaic modules.
Em official note on the subject, they claim that the New generation of rectangular silicon wafers represent a significant technological direction for the industry, offering increased module power, optimized container utilization and reduced system costs.

“The new generation of rectangular silicon wafers represents a significant technological direction for the industry, offering increased module power, optimized container utilization and reduced system costs.
To face the challenges posed by variations in the dimensions of rectangular silicon wafer modules, which hinder the supply chain, result in material waste and create application difficulties in customer system designs, it is imperative to promote the standardization of the dimensions of these modules .
After extensive and in-depth communication, representatives from nine module companies, namely DAS Solar, Risen, JA, Jinko, LONGi, TW, Trina, Astronergy and CSI reached a consensus on the standard dimensions of 2382 mm x 1134 mm for the New generation rectangular crystalline silicon modules as follows:
Module Size: 2382mm x 1134mm
Module long side vertical hole distance: 400mm/790mm/1400mm
Furthermore, we propose that current and future designs for 182 [mm] series modules and 210 [mm] series modules must adhere to the specifications outlined in “Technical Specification T/IA 0003-2022 for Module Dimensions and Mounting Holes Crystalline Silicon Terrestrial Photovoltaic” from the China Photovoltaic Industry Association (IA) (chinapv.org.cn), as well as the dimensions of the existing industry.
Within these dimension ranges, each manufacturer can adopt them based on their individual circumstances to meet the diverse needs of their customers. The nine companies tly advocate and promote the acceptance of the above standardized dimensions among more companies in the industry and incorporate each rectangular dimension of the silicon wafer module into the industry standards of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association.
Furthermore, the nine companies decided to establish the “Photovoltaic Module Dimension Standardization Seminar Group” to facilitate regular communication and collaboration, advancing dimension standardization for other variants of the new generation of rectangular silicon wafer modules and promoting the healthy development of the photovoltaic industry.

Manufacturers could come together and standardize lighter and more compact s, but they are not the ones who install them, right? What's more, why are pre-drilled holes for placing grounding cables in the lower part of the frame? Why not on the sides, near the edges? Has no one noticed this yet?
I agree with the standardization of solar modules. This will greatly facilitate the work of those involved in the segment and other benefits…
