Mato Grosso do Sul sured a symbolic mark of 1 GW installed in the distributed micro and minigeneration segment, according to data from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).
In Brazil, the states that lead in solar DG (Distributed Generation) capacity are Minas Gerais e São Pauloboth with more than 3 GW installed.
In addition, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, Mato Grosso, Santa Catarina, Bahia, Goiás and Rio de Janeiro also have already reached the 1 GW mark.
In February 2023 they were five states with at least 1 GW installed.
According to data from ANEEL, in Mato Grosso do Sul there are currently around 89,7 thousand DG systems in the state, generating credits for around 128,8 thousand UCs (consumer units), installed in all 79 municipalities.
O highlight is Campo Grande, which has an installed capacity of 235 MW and 26,7 systems installed. Dourados (99 MW), Três Lagoas (37 MW), Ponta Porã (33 MW) and Naviraí (28 MW) complete the first five places in the ranking.
Taking into the consumption classes, the one with the highest volumes of installed capacity by the source is residential (442 MW). Soon after, come the commercial, rural and industrial classes with 236 MW, 163 MW and 147 MW respectively.
The main modality in the state is own generation, with 631 MW, followed by remote consumption, which has 362 MW. Since 2021, more than 800 MW of power has been installed in the state.

- São Paulo: 3,56 GW;
- Minas Gerais: 3,49 GW;
- Rio Grande do Sul: 2,6 GW
- Paraná: 2,46 GW
- Mato Grosso: 1,58 GW
- Santa Catarina: 1,29 GW
- Bahia: 1,17 GW
- Goiás: 1,14 GW
- Rio de Janeiro: 1,02 GW
- Mato Grosso do Sul: 1 GW
