the state of Minas Gerais reached 10 GW of solar power in installed capacity, adding the large power plants GC (Centralized Generation), equivalent to approximately 5,8 GW, Ea GD (Distributed Generation) with 4,2 GW.

The new landmark of 10 GW represents more than 20% of all photovoltaic energy produced in Brazil, which reached about 49 GW.

The announcement was made in Wednesday (30) No. 9th CBGD (Brazilian Congress on Distributed Generation) em Belo Horizonte (MG), by the deputy Gil Pereira (PSD), Chairman of the Mines and Energy Committee da ALMG (Legislative Assembly of Minas Gerais)

"Minas Gerais came out ahead and the numbers demonstrate our national leadership. Result of the fight I waged for the innovative Minas Gerais legislation to encourage the sector, with laws of my authorship, approved in the Assembly, the first in the country that ICMS exempt for plants up to 5 MW, benefiting small and medium-sized systems”, explains the deputy.

“There are thousands of empregos, renda, clean energy, increase in municipal revenue for health, education, infrastructure and for rural producers”, says Pereira.

To Carlos Evangelist, president of ABGD (Brazilian Distributed Generation Association), the event demonstrates how the sector grew em seven years. “We have several players from different sectors here: installers, manufacturers, experts, consultancies, offices legal, all acting directly or indirectly in distributed generation and contributing to the energy transition in Brazil and the world", said.

Evangelist highlighted that, recently, the Brazil reached 33 GW of installed power only in distributed generation.“This means two and a half Itaipus of power from renewable energy sources”, commented.

“There are more than 3 million systems installed throughout Brazil Catching practically 100% of the municipalities, and benefiting 4,2 million consumer units. in all are BRL 140 billion in investments and the creation of more than 850 jobs”, concluded Evangelhista.
