The director of Mori Energia, Bruno Shiraga, said, during his participation in the podcast Papo Solar, that the company expects to reach the R$1 billion mark in investments in photovoltaic DG (distributed generation) in 2021.
“In the last two years, we have invested more than R$700 million. Now, thinking about the future, we are looking to increase our portfolio and sur the R$1 billion mark in GD, bringing greater benefits to individuals, companies and rural producers, who we know need to be more competitive from a financial point of view. From this, we were able to democratize access to 100% renewable and clean energy”, highlighted Shiraga.
Throughout the podcast, he also commented on Mori having expanded the solar generation service to residential and rural producers in Minas Gerais since the beginning of August, with the possibility of savings of 12% to 20% on the energy bill without the need for initial investment or loyalty. The modality was, until then, only available to businesses, condominiums and small industries.
“Today, we are able to offer a benefit to everyone, from residential and rural consumers, to companies and businesses, for example. In other words, we are able to serve the widest possible spectrum of people within our operation. Many people end up saying that solar is expensive. However, today you don't need to invest to be sustainable and save, just access our website and our solar communities”, explained the executive.
According to the entrepreneur, energy contracting is done entirely through the company's website. In the residential plan, the contractor must have an average consumption starting at R$300. For commercial or rural plans, the average must be starting at R$500.
Resilience in the face of the pandemic
For Shiraga, Mori's biggest challenge was developing, together with the team, projects that currently have 180 MW installed in Minas Gerais. “We had to skip stages due to the number of projects we installed. There were more than 34 plants in more than 17 municipalities in MG. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, we are managing to implement an accelerated pace of connection,” he commented.
“The advice I give is to never give up. Have resilience and purpose to develop a business. In Brazil, it is not a simple task. We spent four years structuring Mori until we reached the stage we are at today. We are preparing to have this growth and take advantage of this moment. We look for partners who understand our project, our philosophy and who have the same ideal. The Brazilian market has been growing exponentially, so if you are well prepared, it will be possible to capture great opportunities that will be in the sector”, concluded the executive.
About Mori
According to Bruno Shiraga, Mori is a 100% integrated company. “We develop everything from the design to the construction of the plant and its operation. With this, we offer energy efficiency solutions, which provide the end customer with savings on their energy bill. The construction of the plant is outsourced, but the project is developed internally by our engineering department. Within all the stages, the only part that is not carried out by Mori (in-house) is the construction”, he explained.
