The Palácio da Alvorada, the official residence of the Presidency of the Republic in Brasília (DF), will now be fully supplied by a solar energy system.
The construction of the photovoltaic plant with a capacity of 1.095 kWp is expected to begin in May, with sufficient generation to fully cover the building's consumption.
According to the Federal Government, the measure should generate annual savings of approximately R$1 million for public coffers.
The total investment exceeds R$ 3,5 million and will be made possible through the PEE (Energy Efficiency Program) of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), in partnership with Neoenergia Brasília.
According to the distributor, the solar energy system will have an estimated production capacity of 1.500 MWh per year – a volume sufficient to supply all of the Palace's consumption.
The action is part of a series of initiatives aimed at the energy transition in public buildings in the federal capital, since the partnership between the Federal Government and Neoenergia Brasília is not unprecedented.
Since March 2021, the concessionaire has promoted the installation of photovoltaic systems in large public institutions, such as the Federal Police, Air Force, Brazilian Army and the STF (Supreme Federal Court).
