A Renault do Brasil signed a the partnership to Comerc Energia Group to become a self-producing company of electrical energy from the photovoltaic sourcea.
For that, will use one of the five solar parks in the Castilho Solar Complex (SP). The space allocated exclusively for Renault's energy generation has a capacity of 50 MW.
Altogether, the The project will supply 85% of the energy used by the French automaker in its vehicle factories and istrative center, reaching 100% in December. Before adopting solar energy, the multinational used clean electrical energy through water sources.
“This project allows Renault do Brasil to continue using clean electrical energy in its production process and also become self-sufficient in generation, contributing to the Brazilian energy system in a sustainable way”, explains Ricardo Gondo, president of the company.
During the installation of the Castilho Solar Complex, an entire work to minimize the socio-environmental impact in the region, such as an environmental compensation program and care for local fauna, as well as actions developed in partnership with the Departments of Education and Environment of the State of São Paulo in municipal schools in Castilho (SP), reaching more than 1.400 students and 250 educators .
“We guarantee that the automaker makes a smooth and assertive transition from a source that was already 100% clean, such as hydro, evolving to another clean and encouraged source, which is photovoltaics”, says Pedro Fiuza, vice-president of centralized generation at Comerc Energy.
