The sum of investments to Street lighting and para implementation of renewable energy plantss, such as solar, had an increase in 163%, according to Develop SP.

According to Development agency from the state government, the aid allocated to the cities of São Paulo amounted to approximately R $ million 20,5 in the first half of 2024. In the first six months of 2023, the volume was approximately R$ 7,08 million.

Desenvolvimento SP released R $ million 3,06 to solar energy projects in the first half of this year. O growth is 65,4% compared to the same period in 2023, when the amount was R$ 1,85 million.

As cities that have already benefited for the program were Anhumas, Arujá, Boituva, Brejo Alegre, Campo Limpo Paulista, Cerqueira César, Conchal, Cordeirópolis, Dois Córregos, Gabriel Monteiro, Glicério, Guará, Jaú, Matão, Palestine, Pitangueiras, Ribeirão Corrente, Santa Clara D'Oeste and Olympia.

Billy Rod Guimarães Matias, public sector business manager at Desenvolvimento SP, highlighted the benefits that investments provide to São Paulo’s municipalities.

“A modernization of public lighting bring more safety, improves the appearance of the city, reduces costs and emergency maintenance. Furthermore, LED lamps do not contain toxic elements and are 100% recyclable, ensuring sustainability process of the projects”, he highlighted.
