Residents from the city of Rio Grande do Sul Arroio grande protest dam against a lack of energy that affects the city, especially the rural area, more than 23 days ago without electrical power. A fall happened later that one storm hit the state, on March 21st and left 1,2 million points without light.

A civil defense of State said that 45 municipalities reported power grid disruptions. Since then, power has been gradually restored, but the city of Arroio Grande still has points without power.

A group of rural residents protested on BR-116, between Pelotas and Jaguarão and then went to the dealership's office CEEE Equatorial to continue the protest.

According to information from G1, some residents reported that in addition to a lack of energy, they also suffer from a lack of water, as electricity is essential for pumping water to their homes.

Residents are also suffering from the economic loss of losing part of the produce that needs to be refrigerated.

The Arroio Grande Court issued an injunction ordering the concessionaire to restore the electricity supply throughout the municipality within 36 hours, in the urban area and 72 hours in the rural area.

The deadline for energy normalization is Saturday (13th), there is also a daily fine of R$ 15 thousand, if CEEE Equatorial does not comply with the decision in time.

The concessionaire, in a statement, states that it continues working to restore the energy supply.
