A EAVES (Legislative Assembly of Rondônia) recently approved the bill (PL) 87/2023, which establishes a state policy to encourage the renewable energy generation to small producers e rural settlements.

According to the parliamentarian, the plan is to achieve environmental, social and economic sustainability in the generation of renewable energy in Rondônia.

“There are numerous advantages of this policy, such as improving conditions in rural areas, especially small producers and family farmers. It promotes the local economy and adds value to the fresh product, and is also a stimulus for the dissemination of transition technologies and energy security”, says Cândido.

The text also indicates that family farmers, small and medium-sized rural producers, will have priority access to rural credit when organized in associations or cooperatives.

The financing lines will be used both to purchase machinery and equipment and to finance works. In addition, it is also planned to create a public for companies and professionals qualified to prepare and execute services in energy production systems. 

“It is also necessary to consider that the installation of small units to generate energy in the field can contribute, decisively, to sustainable development, adding economic value to family farming producers. This will distribute income better than the distribution model that exists today”, explained the parliamentarian.
