The government of Santa Catarina, through celesc (Centrais Elétricas de Santa Catarina), announced an investment of around R$4,5 billion in the Santa Catarina electrical system until 2026.
According to the State, this is the largest investment package in the energy company's history.
Of the total planned contributions, R$3,5 billion will be allocated to expanding the transformer capacity of existing substations, building new substations, installing new distribution lines and investing in medium and low voltage. The remainder of the investment, which is equivalent to R$1 billion, will be allocated to strategic projects.
“It is a unique moment for Santa Catarina, which will benefit from the largest investment in history in the Santa Catarina electrical system. This represents more supply, quality and availability of energy for the population and for those who generate jobs and income,” highlighted governor Jorginho Mello.
The information was released through the Investment Plan of the company, launched during an event at Teatro Pedro Ivo, located in Florianópolis. The event was attended by governor Jorginho Mello and vice-governor Marilisa Boehm.
The governor stated that the investment will guarantee security for entrepreneurs to remain in the state and expand their businesses.
According to him, the negotiation allows Santa Catarina to attract new investments, becoming increasingly competitive in the market.
“The plan includes actions that will give more recursion and robustness to the electrical system throughout the entire Santa Catarina territory and foresees the construction of 20 new substations and 41 expansions and improvements to existing substations”, stated Tarcísio Estefano Rosa, president of Celesc.
According to the businessman, the investment is of great importance for the improving the population's quality of life, in addition to promoting the economic development.
“This will certainly be reflected in better conditions for SC to grow and provide a better quality of life for those who live and work in our state”, he highlighted.
