A study carried out by Loft, a startup that operates in the real estate market, in partnership with the research company, Offerwise, sought to find out which home items are most desired by residents of Florianópolis (SC).

The survey interviewed 300 residents of the capital of Santa Catarina, from all social classes and age groups, over the age of 18, and was carried out between September 18 and October 11. The margin of error is 5 percentage points, with a confidence level of 90%.

According to the survey, the second most desired item by the municipality's inhabitants is a solar energy system, with 75,7% of the people interviewed showing interest in the equipment.

Photovoltaic technology is second only to the closet, which is on the wish list of 80,2% of those interviewed.

“Solar energy attracts attention because it is something that can impact both electricity bills and environmental concerns,” explains Fábio Takahashi, data manager at Loft.

Air conditioning in all rooms (76,1%), solar or gas heating (75,7%), and doors or windows with acoustic insulation (72,5%) are also items that appear well positioned on the wish list of Florianópolis residents.

Solar energy in Florianópolis

The capital of Santa Catarina is one of the Brazilian cities that has been notable for capitalizing on investments and promoting incentives for renewable energy projects, especially solar energy.

In the first four months of 2025, FIFA (International Federation of Football Association), for example, reported that will invest around US$ 4 million (around R$ 21 million) in the installation of a solar power plant No. Sapiens Park, an important hub for technology companies in the capital of Santa Catarina.

The municipality is also one of the locations that adopt the green IPTU, an incentive that guarantees discounts to citizens who adopt sustainable practices in their properties, such as the use of photovoltaic systems on roofs.
