Sudene releases credit of R$944 million for solar complex

The collegiate board of sudene (Superintendency of Development of the Northeast) approved the release of R$944 million by FDNE (Northeast Development Fund) to implementation of the Solar Anjos complex, from the group Newave Energy.

The company is investing R$1,58 billion in the project, which is located in municipality of Arinos, within the State of Minas Gerais. The project will be made up of seven photovoltaic plants, which total 336 MW of installed capacity and which are planned to enter into operation in January 2024.

During the implementation and operation phases of the structure, more than 4,1 direct and indirect jobs. As social counterparts, it was agreed that the multinational should carry out environmental education and local development actions in rural communities in the region. 

According to estimates from the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics), the municipality of Arinos currently has around 17,8 thousand inhabitants and an IDHM (Municipal Human Development Index) of 0,656, considered average.

For 2023, the FDNE has a budget of R$1 billion in releasing credits for companies, with financing that can reach up to 20 years.

After having prior consultations approved by Sudene, companies only need to look for an accredited financial agent to present the projects and request technical and risk analysis. 

Once the viability of the projects is attested, the superintendency will then be able to approve the financing, proceeding with the release of credit.
