“The photovoltaic market has reached such maturity, such a size that no one can put an end to it.” This is the analysis of engineer Roberto Caurim, CEO of Bluesun Solar do Brasil.
The executive classifies the sector’s growth as mind-boggling. “It is a segment that employs a lot. Bluesun, for example, started with four, five employees and currently has more than a hundred”, he commented.
The forecast, according to Caurim, is that by mid-2021 the company will have approximately 150 employees. “It’s a market that they can hardly stop. In fact, we almost doubled our revenue in recent months, even in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
He also highlighted the strength of the solar source. “Photovoltaic technology comes and goes one way or another. No one can fight it, as it is overwhelming. They may even make it difficult, trying to change REN 482 (Normative Resolution No. 482/2012) in such a way that it becomes less competitive for us, but the batteries are arriving to boost the sector even further,” he added.
Prospects for 2021
The engineer also highlighted that 2021 will be the year of the solar segment. “The trend is to grow more and more. I believe that 2021 will be a fantastic year, just as 2020 was. We see this in the dollar itself, which has calmed down”, he explained.
However, the CEO of Bluesun also said that Brazil will face some problems related to import costs, which tend to improve from February or March onwards.
