The event "Energy transition e ODS 7 – Clean Energy and Cogeneration: Paths to a Sustainable Energy Matrix”, organized by IEA (Institute of Advanced Studies) of USP (University of São Paulo), takes place in São Paulo (SP), on Thursday (30).
The meeting aims to discuss the advancement of clean energy in Brazil and the role of cogeneration in a more sustainable and efficient energy matrix. The event is free and open to the public, with no need for prior registration, and will take place in the Alfredo Bosi Room of the IEA, on the Butantã campus of USP.
The initiative is organized by the IEA Gap Year Program, with from ONS (National Electric System Operator) and the Cear/UFPB (Center for Alternative and Renewable Energy at the Federal University of Paraíba).
The debate will be moderated by Fernando Caneppele, professor at USP and participant in the Sabbatical Year program.
Among the speakers is Camila RamosCEO of CELA (Clean Energy Latin America), who will talk about the opportunities and challenges for clean energy in Brazil, highlighting market trends and Newton Duarte, executive chairman of Cogen (Energy Cogeneration Industry Association), which will discuss the importance of energy cogeneration in Brazil, with a focus on energy efficiency and emissions reduction.
For Camila Ramos, “Brazil is a great source of renewable energy, with a highly dynamic sector in the economy and can, in a short time, be the major global player in the energy transition, with an increasingly relevant role in the geopolitics of sustainability and the fight against global warming”.
