ABGD meets with Sergio Moro to discuss demands from the renewable energy sector

The association also intends to talk to other presidential candidates to find out what they think about the segment

A ABGD (Brazilian Association of Distributed Generation) began, this Thursday (9), at lunch with Podemos pre-candidate, Sergio Moro, a series of meetings with political leaders who should run for President of the Republic next year. The meeting took place in a restaurant, in the city of São Paulo (SP).

The gatherings aim to bring to the presidential candidates the demands of the renewable energy sector and discuss the future of the national electricity sector, especially topics such as DG (distributed generation), consumer empowerment, decarbonization, social inclusion policies and generation of employment and income through through the green economy.

“The next few years will continue to be challenging for our segment, which needs fair and balanced regulation to continue developing and contributing to the expansion of the renewable matrix. For this reason it is very important to establish a dialogue with those who can be our representatives in the executive”, said Carlos Evangelista, president of ABGD.

After the meeting, Moro stated that he was aware of the importance of the electricity sector for the development of Brazil. “We know that the solar, wind and other renewable energy sectors are strategic, there are technologies advancing and we also know that adequate regulatory frameworks are necessary”, he highlighted.

In addition to the meeting with Moro, ABGD confirmed that it is scheduling the next meetings, with the aim of talking to as many presidential candidates as possible, in order to share with them all the challenges of the renewable energy market and hear their proposals for this sector .

Also participating in the lunch were the president-elect of ABGD for the next biennium, Guilherme Chrispim; Lúcia Abadia, commercial and social actions director; Einar Tribuci, legal and tax director; Carlos Cunha, regional director of Goiás and Eduardo Lopes, director of industries.
