Adjustment in road transport freight increases the price of photovoltaic kits

Increases approved by ANTT range from 0,87% to 1,96% and bring impacts to the solar sector

A ANTT (National Land Transport Agency) approved, this Tuesday (19), an increase in the value of the table of minimum freight rates for road freight transport. Average adjustments range from 0,87% to 1,96%.

According to distributors of photovoltaic kits interviewed by Canal Solar, the measure will increase the cost of equipment in the country. “Unfortunately, we will have inflationary pressure at various points in our production chain,” he said. Roberto Caurim, CEO of Bluesun.

The approved adjustment takes into the calculation of the IPCA (Broad National Consumer Price Index) accumulated for the months of December 2021 and June 2022. The variation in the price of S10 diesel oil will also be applied, referring to the values ​​published by the ANP (National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels) for the period from 10 to 16 July .

“All the effects of the pandemic, the war in ukraine and elections in the country are beginning to take their toll. Bluesun will do everything possible to mitigate price adjustments in our kits, aiming not to impact negotiations between our integrators and their customers”, highlighted Caurim.

Fábio Delgado, commercial director of Techlux, in turn, highlights that the adjustment applied is yet another factor that impacts the price of equipment in Brazil, as has already been the case with the rise in the value of photovoltaic cells in China and international sea freight. “Maybe this is the smallest impact among these three, but it also has an impact,” he said.

Yes, Arthur Santini, director of Ecori Solar Energy, assesses that price variations impact all companies, but in different ways. According to him, those that do not work with their own fleet and outsource the service are directly impacted by the adjustments.

“Recent changes to ANTT's minimum shipping values ​​do not directly impact our costs, because we do not use the table to index the value of our shipping. The vast majority of our deliveries are made with our own fleet,” he said.

“What impacts us, and makes us more susceptible, is the variation in the prices of inputs, such as fuel, tires and other items that impact land transport. These are the costs that the ANTT values ​​cover, but without affecting us directly”, stated Santini.
