A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) approved three tariff adjustments in its 14th ordinary public meeting, held this Tuesday (29), the main one being that of Equatorial Alagoas Distribuidora de Energia, which will come into effect on May 3. The average effect will be -6,79%, being -6,78% for high voltage and -6,79% for low voltage.

Neoenergia Pernambuco was also readjusted, with an average effect of 0,65%. In this case, high-voltage consumers will pay -7,06%, while low-voltage consumers will see an increase of 3,04%. The new values will come into effect as of this Tuesday (April 29).

FL Paulista (Companhia Paulista de Força e Luz) was readjusted by -3,65% (being -3,06% and -3,93% for high and low voltage consumers, respectively).

However, the process of Light Electricity Services, which has been on the agenda for almost a month, was postponed again. The director general of the regulatory agency, Sandoval Feitosa, asked for a review – a measure that had already been taken in the previous meeting, by director Ricardo Tili.

Sandoval publicly criticized the company, claiming “perplexity” after Light sent a letter on the eve of the deliberation. The utility claimed that on April 14, it was notified by the Federal Revenue Service about a decision that partially enabled PIS/Cofins credits, which changed the calculation basis for the adjustment.

The initial proposal, which envisaged an adjustment that would produce an average effect of -11,96%, would be reduced to -1,08%. According to the company representative, the information was not forwarded earlier “so as not to bring more unpredictability to the process”.

In light of the new development, Sandoval recalled that this was not the first time that such an event had occurred in relation to Light. “I express my perplexity at the way the company is dealing with the regulatory body. A very relevant aspect of a tariff process that has been dragging on for a few days now, the tariff department is unaware of such an event, which would cause an impact of R$1 billion, and the company brings a letter on the eve of the meeting. I would say that this is not our normal,” he claimed. Sandoval, who requested views.

The process is tied with two votes in favor and two against.
