The board of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) authorized, this Tuesday (26), the iron directly from fuel costs – through from CCC (Fuel Consumption ) – for suppliers of diesel oil from the company BBF (Brazil Biofuels).

The decision aims to prevent interruption of power supply for about 110 thousand consumers who live em isolated locations in the states of Acre, Rondônia, Amazonas and Roraima.

Currently, the BFF owns more than 20 power plants in North. A company, however, Claims to have no box to pay your suppliers, due to a serious financial crisis.

During the meeting of the ANEEL, the directors highlighted that the economic situation the company is experiencing is “unsustainable” and that the solution proposed by the Agency is temporary, as its objective is to prevent an imminent risk of fuel shortages from resulting in energy shortages in the locations served by BBF.

It was decided that Instead of transferring resources to BFF, the money will be sent directly to suppliers. This is because as the company is in deficit, the funds could be used by the company for other purposes, such as carrying out legal actions.

A ANEEL also ordered the company to be subpoenaed to explain “the flaws and transgressions identified in legislation and regulation”. If infractions are found, the Agency must apply penalties to the company.

Renewable energy

In the last years, actions have been carried out to reduce dependence on diesel in energy generation for isolated communities through use of renewable sources in these localities.

In December last year, the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy), for example, published a ordinance The objective is to improve auctions to serve isolated locations, valuing the use of clean sources.

The ministry itself has also approved more robust budgets for programs like Luz Para Todos – which aims to universalize access to electricity in remote communities with the help, above all, of renewable energy.

The same is also being carried out by companies and entities, which have invested part of their capital in project development that bring electricity from renewable sources to the residents of these locations.
