A Auren Energy, a platform for generating renewable sources and selling energy in Brazil, announced the acquisition of Esfera Energia, an energy management company in the national market.
Auren's objective with the acquisition is enhance the company's operations with medium and large customers, especially in retail segment.
Created in 2015, the Energy Sphere serves 570 business groups and manages around 1,6 contracts in the Free Energy Market, in addition to having 142 generating units in its portfolio, having earned R$324 million in 2023.
A company is also among the retail leaders and is recognized for its customer experience practices across all segments.
“Esfera arrives to complement the ecosystem of our energy trader, expanding our portfolio of products and services”, explains Mario Bertoncini, vice president of finance and investor relations at Auren.
After completion of the transaction, the Sphere management will remain independent, with different teams and offices, and with the current partners heading the operation, so that there is no impact on the care and services provided to its clients, as well as on future relationships.
“We are certain that integrating Auren's ecosystem of companies is the best option to strengthen our business and accelerate our objective of creating the largest and most qualified platform for Mercado Livre de Energia customers, now in a much more robust structure” , said Braz Justi, CEO of Esfera.
“Our priority is to improve the development of our systems, market intelligence and service capacity, creating an increasingly qualified service and maintaining Esfera’s independence and autonomy in serving our customers, consumers and energy generators”, he highlighted.
A transaction with Esfera will be submitted for approval by CADE (istrative Council for Economic Defense), from CCEE (Electricity Trading Chamber) and the ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency). A The expectation is that it will be completed during the second half of 2024.
This is the second investment made by Auren in the last 30 days. On May 15, 2024, the company announced the business combination with AES Brasil, creating the third largest energy generator in the country.
