Average watt-peak price in Brazil falls for the 4th consecutive quarter

Data Solfácil Radar show that the average watt-peak price (Wp) presented fall for the 4th consecutive quarter. In its 6th edition, the indicator gathers information from solar energy projects totaling more than R$15 billion, between consultations and financing carried out, with the aim of offering to integrators in the best pricing.

With the lowest value since the beginning of the survey carried out by Solfácil, the average price of photovoltaic energy reached R$4,22 Wp in the fourth quarter of 2022, which means a 4% drop compared to the previous period.

“The record level of installed power achieved recently placed solar as the second most important source in our matrix”, commented Francisco Simon, VP of Sales and Marketing at Solfácil.

“The development of the modality brought benefits to the entire chain, with financial institutions offering new lines of financing, a greater number of specialized integrators and distributors seeking to improve service levels. It is this entire scenario that explains the reduction in most states,” he reported.

According to ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul, Bahia and Paraná are the ones that generated the most connections in the country in 2022.

Among these regions, the data showed that the city of Presidente Prudente, in the interior of São Paulo, has the lowest average price in the ranking (R$ 3,63) with a difference to the second place (Rondonópolis-MT) of R$/ Wp 0,18.

Although the biggest drop occurred in the Southeast (-5%), the research indicated that the region with the lowest average price is the Central-West, which reached R$/Wp 4,07.

Still according to the study, the North region has prices above R$/Wp 5,00 at the lowest power. Values ​​tend to fall as the power range increases, even in the most expensive region of Brazil, where projects are below R$/Wp 3,50 in the range above 15 kWp.

Among the more than 4 thousand municipalities with connections disclosed by ANEEL, half of the ten most expensive cities in the country are in Pará, including the two with the highest average price in the ranking (Castanhal and Ananindeua). The difference compared to the first place in another state (Cáceres, MT) is up to R$/Wp 0,11.
