The BNDES (Brazilian Development Bank) has launched its SBF (Sustainability Bond Framework), a document that facilitates the issuance of green, social and sustainable bonds by the bank in Brazil and abroad. These resources will be raised based on this initiative, developed from a technical cooperation agreement signed with the IDB (Inter-American Development Bank), will be used to finance and refinance new or existing projects in the BNDES portfolio.

Program models eligible for resource allocation cover categories that include, for example, renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable water management and clean transport.

According to the company, the project expands the funding possibilities provided for in the Green Bond Framework launched in 2017, which allowed BNDES to be the first Brazilian bank to issue this type of bond, in the international capital market, and the first institution financial institution to issue green financial letters in 2020, in the local market.
Expansion of credit lines for renewable projects
