An offensive by Civil police of the State of Ceará resulted in the execution of a preventive arrest and search and seizure warrant against an engineer from Guinea-Bissau, accused of carrying out scams in the solar sector for at least three years in Brazil. 

The 36-year-old man is being investigated for fraud, for having used false documents and manipulation tactics against consumers in the municipality of Sobral (CE). In total, the victims' losses exceed R$140. 

According to the Police, the modus operandi used by the engineer to carry out the scam was repeated: the African offered solar kits to victims and after receiving payment, he made up excuses for not installing the product or even responded to calls and messages from buyers.

In light of the allegations, the Police served a preventive arrest warrant against the suspect, who was taken to the Sobral Municipal Police Station and is at the disposal of the Justice Department.

In a statement, the Civil Police of Ceará reported that, in cases like this, the population can contribute to the investigations by ing on information that helps the corporation's work.

Reports can be made via message, audio, video or photograph. According to the Police, confidentiality and anonymity are guaranteed to the population.
