The Chamber of Deputies has now begun analyzing Senate amendments to PL 58/20, known as the “fuels of the future” bill, which creates national programs for green diesel, sustainable aviation fuel and biomethane, in addition to increasing the blend of ethanol and biodiesel in gasoline and diesel, respectively.
The rapporteur of Bill 528/20, deputy Arnaldo Jardim (Cidadania-SP), proposed accepting most of the amendments, but rejected two: the extension of the deadline for mini-generators to start operating and take advantage of discounts for the use of transmission and distribution lines; and the provision for the participation of consumers and vehicle manufacturers in tests that would be mandatory to define percentages of addition of diesel and alcohol to fossil fuels.
