Mines and Energy Commission will promote debate on electricity sector PLs

Public hearing will be held next Tuesday (16) and will involve discussions on four bills

A Mines and Energy Commission da Câmara dos Deputados will promote a public hearing next Tuesday (16) with the aim of discuss bills that could change electricity sector policies.

A hearing will take place at 10am and the guest list can be consulted hereFederal deputy Hugo Leal (PSD-RJ) was the one who asked for the debate to be held.

A idea of the deputy is listening to experts and “evaluate the best route in the search for a better energy distribution service to the population and the improvement of legislation”, he stated. 

In the audience The following bills will be discussed:

  • PL 4831 / 23: which regulates the renewal of distributor concessions;

  • PL 444/24: which changes the rule for calculating distributors’ performance indicators;

  • PL 445 / 24: which provides rules for inspection agreements between Aneel and the state regulatory agency;

  • PL 446/24: which deals with the transparency of information related to energy distributors.

According to the deputy, all of these projects seek to guarantee “efficiency, effectiveness and equity in the regulation of electrical energy services”.

For Leal, this is the best path in “the search for a better energy distribution service to the population and the improvement of legislation”.
