Comfrio, specialized in logistics solutions in Latin America for the food and agribusiness chain, and GLP, manager of investments in real estate, infrastructure, logistics and technologies, inaugurated a solar plant with 204,7 kW of installed power.
The photovoltaic plant was installed on the roof of the CD (Distribution Center) operated by Comfrio in Guarulhos. The project will produce energy for logistical operations of companies operating in the food sector.
The plant will generate, on average, 236,8 MWh per year. For the construction of the plant, Longi 445 Wp mono perc photovoltaic modules and Sungrow inverters (1 SG110CXV and 1 SG50CX-WiFi) were used.
“With the new plant, we contribute to greater sustainability in the food industry, at the same time as we prove that our mission goes beyond taking care of Brazil's food and extends to initiatives that have a positive impact on the environment”, says Sidney Catania, CEO from Comfrio.
The park also adopts solutions to reduce the consumption of natural resources, which reduce the demand for electricity and water by up to 60%. According to Mauro Dias, president of GLP in Brazil, the generation of solar energy in partnership with warehouse tenants is an action that benefits companies, their customers and society as a whole. “Two of GLP’s main commitments are: offering solutions for our customers to achieve their logistics efficiency objectives and contributing positively to the communities where we operate”, he comments.
“The GLP Guarulhos I photovoltaic plant, the second in a GLP park in the country, is an example of a solution that combines both commitments”, he adds. Globally, GLP has 2,4 million m² of solar s installed on the roofs of its projects, which produce more than 224 MW.
