Thopen, the arm of Pontal Energy focused on the Free Energy Market and DG (distributed generation), announced an investment of R$750 million in a portfolio of 52 solar power plants in the Northeast.

The projects are located in the states of Bahia, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Norte and Ceará, totaling 200 MWp of installed capacity – enough to serve, on average, more than 64 thousand businesses through the distributed generation model.

The projects were developed in partnership with Vip Air and represent a strategic advance in the expansion plan of Thopen and Pontal Energy.

In April, the company also raised R$90 million in its first issuance of incentivized debentures, carried out by one of its subsidiaries, Kinea.

According to Gustavo Ribeiro, CEO of Thopen and Pontal Energy, the acquisition of new plants is essential for the success of the company's investment and expansion plan. “We want to generate value for our shareholders and reduce costs for our customers,” he says.

Pontal Energy and Thopen operate in solar and wind power generation in Brazil, with an installed capacity of 608 MW and a greenfield portfolio of over 1 GW. The platform currently manages around 250 consumer units and operates 240 MWp in distributed generation.

With the new plants under construction, the expectation is to reach 500 MWp in DG by the end of 2025 and 800 MWp by the end of 2026, with more than 1 million consumer units under management.
