O Canal Solar will be held on November 28th and 29th at Unicamp Convention Center, located in Campinas (SP), the Canal Connect, an event that will be attended by renowned professionals from the Brazilian solar energy sector.

The congress, which will be held in person, will also feature real-time online transmission, allowing professionals and investors from different regions to participate. Topics such as the Law 14.300 / 2022 – known as GD's Legal Framework -, the battery energy storage market, the Green Hydrogen market in Brazil and around the world, applications of floating photovoltaic plants, among other topics.

Second Bruno Kikumoto, executive director of Canal Solar, the objective of this first edition is to bring relevant topics to the promotion of the photovoltaic market that, at times, appear to be disconnected from the reality of integrators, but which, in fact, are very close and are extremely relevant.

“We will bring in renowned professionals who master the subject to bring insights into business models. It will be an event for people to exchange knowledge, network and find solutions with participants to the problems they currently have in operations and in their day-to-day activities”, he highlighted.

“The meeting will be held in an iconic place, Unicamp, one of the best universities in the world, where several who work in the solar and electrical sector began their careers, their journeys”, concluded Kikumoto.

To clarify the main points of Law 14.300/2022, the lawyer Pedro Dante, specialist in energy and infrastructure at Lefosse Lawyers, will give the lecture “How to prepare for Law 14.300?”.

The expert will explain to participants what changes will take effect from January 2023, in addition to exemplifying how integrators can prepare to carry out their business and take advantage of opportunities in the sector.

Still on this topic, a discussion will be held on the impacts that the Law will have on the routine of professionals in the photovoltaic market. Among the speakers are Bernardo Marangon, managing partner at Exata Energia; Elvis Almeida, director of New Business at MySol; Natália Maestá, CEO of Fonte Solar; and Marcelo Abuhamad, Commercial Director of the Bonö Group.

Good sales and O&M practices

Aiming to further train professionals working in the sale of photovoltaic solutions, the event will feature a debate on the best practices in the sector when making a sale and which tools and tactics are recommended to integrators.

This discussion will be held on the second day of the event by Gustavo Tegon, business director at Esfera Solar; Fábio Furtado, CEO of SolarZ; Neto Tosato, founder of Projesol; Raphael Brito, owner and founder of SolarPrime; and Rodrigo Matias, Commercial Director at Ecori.

The discussion regarding O&M (operation and maintenance) will be headed by Leandro Figueiredo, Operations and Maintenance Manager at Siemens Energy.

The specialist will talk about the importance of O&M, such as new vegetation suppression technologies, cleaning of photovoltaic s, module monitoring, preventive and predictive maintenance and the main performance and cost indicators.

In addition, there will be a discussion with the presence of Mauro Sirtoli, renewable energy manager at Weidmüller Brasil; Victor Soares, engineer at JA Solar; It is Paulo Freire, managing partner of Paiol Engenharia.

Storage, floating plants and green hydrogen

Large-scale storage is an important topic for solar energy generation. To speak on this topic, the event will be attended by a specialist in energy storage systems, Rogério Costa, Sales Manager at YouOn.

As the costs of solar technology fall, interest in floating photovoltaic plants grows. To explore the diverse applications of these ventures, José Bione, engineer at Chesf (São Francisco Hydroelectric Company), will address the main aspects of this complementary energy source.

The specialist will talk about the opportunities in this segment, the engineer will talk about the advantages of this type of project, such as substation, low environmental impact, cost optimization, among other benefits.

And to talk about green hydrogen, the Canal Conecta will feature the participation of Ennio Peres, coordinator of the Unicamp Hydrogen laboratory, who will discuss the main concepts of this new fuel on the market.

Complementing, Eduardo Tobias, managing partner of Watt Capital, will address cases, business models, economic viability and mapping of projects under development.

hybrid systems

Glaysson Muller, researcher at EPE (Energy Research Company), will explain the role of the distributed storage system in the electrical system and answer the main questions raised on the topic.

Connecting the subject, the last discussion of the event focuses on inverters and hybrid systems and will be presented by Marcelo Villalva, professor of electrical engineering and researcher at Unicamp, with the participation of Alexandre Borin, Commercial Director of Canadian Solar, and other professionals.
