Connection for microgeneration is at the top of the complaints received by ANEEL

Our last twelve months, ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) received 18.365 complaints of integrators and consumers alleging problems in conexão of your microgeneration systems.

Information is part of the most new report from the Agency's ombudsman, which provides data on the main complaints ed by the entity between the months of March 2022 and 2023.  

According to the study, there was a 34,46% growth in the number of complaints of this type in relation to the same period of the previous year. 

The survey also points out that today the numerous of questions about microgeneration system connection services it's just not bigger than those due to a lack of energy, which accumulated 38.732 complaints in the last twelve months.

O growth of problems in the segment led to Consumer Protection Commission to decide for carrying out a public hearing in the Chamber of Deputies to understand why Brazilians are having so much difficulty connecting photovoltaic systems to distributors.

Problems by region

According to the figures presented by ANEEL, Brazilian region to higher volume of complaints on the connections of microgeneration systems was the Southeast, followed by the Northeast, South, Central-West and North, as illustrated in image below:Alexandre Neves, an integrator from the state of Minas Gerais, was just one of the professionals who filed several complaints with the ANEEL over the last twelve months on the subject.

He says that the problems were diverse and ranged from difficulties in issuing budgets to project rejections by the distributor on the grounds that there is no capacity in the network to install plants. 

As an example, he cites the case of a 3 kW plant in which the concessionaire informed that it would replace a customer's transformer within 60 days. “The distributor did not carry out the work and even asked for an extension of 120 days”, he says. 

In the end, Neves reveals that his client was only able to exchange the equipment after activating Procon (Consumer Protection and Defense Program), since the distributor does not carry out the service within 120 days.
