Crea-SP launches booklet for monitoring renewable energy installations

O Crea-SP (Regional Engineering and Agronomy Council of São Paulo) launched a new instruction booklet to improve the supervision of its agents in installations with renewable sources, especially solar energy. 

O process went through a few stages until its officialization. In November, the organ met with professionals from the photovoltaic sector and electricity distributors to discuss points that could be addressed in the manual. 

The text formulated and with the suggestions made was approved in the Plenary of Crea-SP. In the next days, The booklet is already starting to form part of the daily inspection of state agents. 

In the case of solar energy sector, o target of the manual is improve the work of supervision to contain the advancement of “adventurous” companies in the market. 

In other words, professionals and companies that carry out installations without any type of technical preparation and that end up putting projects and people at risk, in addition to hindering the development and credibility of serious companies operating in the photovoltaic sector as a whole.

According to the document, obtained exclusively by Canal Solar and which is not yet public, will be subject to inspection by Crea-SP: 

  • Power plants;
  • Plant design, construction, maintenance and operation companies;
  • Installations that have generation for their own consumption;
  • Installation companies;
  • Self-employed professionals;
  • Condominiums;
  • Shopping Centers;
  • Hotels;
  • Hospitals;
  • Generations Park;
  • Small Hydroelectric Power Plants;
  • Manufacturers of equipment and components used in the generation, transmission and distribution of energy;
  • Residences.      

Depending on the type of installation inspected, the Crea-SP agents will have to check whether there is a qualified professional who has:

  • Responsibility for deg electrical installations;
  • Responsibility for project execution of electrical installations;
  • Responsibility for energy generation, depending on the source in question;
  • Design and execution of installations relating to the system infrastructure for installation in new or already constructed buildings;
  • Responsibility for design and execution of installations when working at heights;
  • Responsibility for design and execution of companies that manufacture equipment for renewable energy; 
  • Responsibility of a qualified professional for commissioning;
  • Responsibility of a qualified professional for the inspection.
