One of the research published by the Institute Datafolha identified that 89% of Brazilians are willing to install solar energy systems in their homes to contribute to the fight against climate change.

No Rio Grande do Sul, a state that lived with a climate calamity at the beginning of the year and is still facing the consequences of it, this rate rises to 90%.

O survey sought to determine the population’s perception of the climate crisis, having interviewed 2.457 people, aged 16 or over, in 130 municipalities between the 17th and 22nd of June.

A margin of error maximum for the total sample is four percentage points, more or less, within the 95% confidence level.

The Datafolha Survey also showed that, from what they know or perceive on a daily basis, around 97% of Brazilians believe that the planet is experiencing climate change, while 2% believe that this is not happening and only 1% of those interviewed were unable to give their opinion.

When asked about the risks that climate change can cause in a short space of time, there was a division of opinion between those who believe that they represent an immediate risk (52%) and those who believe that they will only be a risk in the future (43%).

Asked if they think the scientists and environmentalists exaggerate warnings In relation to the impacts of climate change, two thirds (67%) of the population said no and 31% believe that there is an exaggeration, while 2% preferred not to give an opinion.

A rate of those who do not see exaggeration on the part of scientists and environmentalists when talking about the effects of changes in the planet's climate, it is above average in the Southeast (73%), in Rio Grande do Sul (76%) and among those who studied up to higher education (80%).

In the Northeast, the rate of those who see exaggeration is 41%, and reaches 43% among those who studied until elementary school.

When asked what the degree of responsibility they attribute to themselves for climate change, around 25% said they felt very responsible and 51% felt somewhat responsible. Another 23% feel not at all responsible and only 1% did not respond.
