Um man from 39 years died after receiving an electric shock while carrying out solar maintenance in the coverage of headquarters building of TST (Superior Labor Court), in Brasília (DF). The accident occurred around 9:30 am on Tuesday (9). 

A civil fire team of the TST itself initiated the First aid and actedthe CBMDF side (Military Fire Department of the Federal District), which was called as soon as the accident occurred. 

Luiz Souza Barbosa suffered a cardiac arrest and CBMDF firefighters performed resuscitation maneuvers for almost an hour, but the electrician did not survive his injuries and ended up dying at the scene. A death was confirmed by a SAMU doctor (Emergency mobile care service).

According to the TST, At the time of the accident, the professional was using all personal protective equipment necessary to deal with electrical network maintenance. 

In note published on its website, the federal body regretted what happened and said that he is providing all and solidarity to the victim's family.  

The TST also reaffirmed its “commitment to the highest standards of occupational safety” and reported that “it is cooperating with investigations by police authorities”. 

Next Steps

O case will be investigated by Civil Police of the Federal District. At the time, It is still not possible to know what could have caused the accident.

“When we analyze this type of situation, what needs to be done? A minute-by-minute inspection must be carried out of everything that happened before the fatality. That It is a methodology that needs to be done so that we can list what actually happened”, he explains. 

"Did it have a circuit breaker lock? What procedures were used to carry out this service? We need to raise these and other questions. It is difficult at this point to analyze this case., because a lot could have happened. It is necessary to know the situation first before making any diagnosis”, highlighted the engineer.

  1. At least the victim's payment process against the labor court will be quick. Well, it was at the labor court office. And there shouldn't be any boss with a lawyer to deny what happened, I ask the free press to follow the case. And if the court does not pay for its bias, sue in the higher courts.
