As distributors of electrical energy have already canceled and suspended another 3 thousand connection requests for installation of Photovoltaic systems in residences, facades and small plots of land in Brazil over the last few months.

It is a volume of projects which, if they had been accepted by the concessionaires, would have added around 1 GW of installed power in the country, according to a survey released this Tuesday morning (08), by ABSOLAR (Brazilian Solar Energy Association).

A entity, that listened to 715 companies installation of photovoltaic systems to carry out the study, claims in its survey that its own generation of solar energy would be suffering “a deliberate boycott in recent months by distributors with losses totaling more than R$3 billion to the country”, points out the document.

The study of ABSOLAR, was done between July 14th and the first week of August this year. According to the research, the distributors that present greater number of projects photovoltaic canceled or suspended are:

  • CEMIG, in Minas Gerais;
  • FL Paulista, in the interior of the State of São Paulo;
  • RGE, in Rio Grande do Sul;
  • Coelba, in Bahia;
  • Elektro, in part of São Paulo and in Mato Grosso do Sul.

According to the association, the allegations suspension and cancellation of consumer photovoltaic projects by distributors, under the argument that their networks are unable to receive energy injected by new solar energy systems, they do not have technical proof and do not comply with the requirements of current regulations.

In the entity's assessment, the suspensions and cancellations carried out by distributors imposed a huge loss on consumers, who invest long-term in photovoltaic technology, and on companies in the sector, which generate employment and income in the regions where they operate and drive the local economy.

“Such allegations involve claims about possible power flow inversions in substations and the requirement, for example, to only be able to inject energy from the solar system into the grid at night,” highlights the ABSOLAR.

For Bárbara Rubim, vice-president of distributed generation at the association, the absence of studies and technical analyzes that prove the situation of the network reinforces the solar energy sector's thesis that such arguments are unfounded, abusive and arbitrary.

“Some analyzes made available by distributors are so absurd that they constitute a mere copied and pasted document, sent in identical form to completely different projects and in different locations,” she said.

For the executive, without any technical evidence, these allegations are not ed by current regulations. “We want the consumer’s right to generate their own energy to be preserved and the right of integrating companies to carry out their work to also be guaranteed by the authorities and agents of the electricity sector,” added Rodrigo Sauaia, CEO of ABSOLAR.

  1. That's why I paid more, but I installed off-grid solar energy, because in this country that has already had a blackout, the least the government should do was give incentives to s of on-grid solar energy, but it does the opposite.

  2. This only corroborates the maxim that energy must be kept under the RESPONSIBILITY of the state and not given at “symbolic” prices to the private sector, whose tacit objective is PROFIT and not better RCB, cost-benefit ratio for the . These companies pursue the maxim of greater profit with less investment, a philosophy that will count against the interests and needs of the market, consumer, and . Of course the state is a terrible , but it is the state that must be improved and charged to offer compensation for the heavy tax and tariff burden that the market, people, and bear, not to mention that it was also WE who paid for years and years for the installation and implementation of the entire infrastructure, from generation, distribution, and transmission.

  3. Brazil is not serious, there is no law here, the strongest and most shameless do what they want. The electricity concessionaires act like a gang, vilifying their consumers.

  4. This is because these unfounded allegations have started to hurt the dealership's pockets. Here in the Federal District, the dealership approves it, but the consumer has to pay for the viability of the project. with improvements to the network when it comes to this.

  5. With the increase in demand, we can see that some businesspeople in the sector did not understand the dimension of photovoltaic projects throughout Brazil. Even before adopting the position of solving the demanded loads, they prefer to impose their deficiencies as if they were investments in the photovoltaic sector. I regret to say that with this abusive return, we understand that we have a limiter for the sector...

  6. THIS SITUATION CAN NO LONGER BE PART OF A NATION UNDER A DEMOCRATIC RULE OF LAW AND BASED ON THE SUSTAINABILITY OF CLEAN AND SELF-SUSTAINABLE ENERGY IN OUR COUNTRY.

  7. Good night!
    For decades, consumers have paid a lot for energy, and the concessionaires have made absurd profits and have not structured their networks. The institutions that claim to defend the consumer have not avoided high rates and red flags. However, when some of these consumers have agreed to take out long-term financing to obtain some benefit from solar energy, these same concessionaires have come to talk about losses...
    ANEEL must exercise its mission and guarantee consumer rights…

  8. Because they are building their own plants with third parties in the interior and renting consumption to small traders and companies.

  9. What were we waiting for?
    Own generation bothers these companies a lot.
    And in a land where the government does not inspire the slightest credibility, these things tend to happen and stay that way.

  10. I was expecting this, distributors are also the main generators in Brazil. With the constant increase in generation, both photovoltaic and wind, they are seeing the growth of a competitor that they did not have.

  11. This is largely the fault of the consumers themselves, who purchase their own equipment kit and install it without regularizing it with the dealership, and also of the integrating companies that promised the customer that they could expand their system by simply adding modules without going through new approval. There are customers who call us to increase power and when we say that they need a new project for such expansion, they argue with us because the person who sold it claimed that they could double the capacity without a project.

  12. So, when the company didn't accept my request for electricity for everyone, I installed the solar system without connecting it to the grid... then I don't have to wait for the electricity bill to arrive! And I look at the sun hitting the sign, and all I see is the Blue Flag! Because the sun is for everyone! And they don't even charge taxes! They call it an Off Grid system! And there are many channels on the internet that teach it very well! When the competition really comes, they will treat citizens with more respect!

  13. Good morning, congratulations on the article. Do you believe this is definitive or will the federal government be able to intervene in favor of solar energy companies?

  14. It was already clear that the reaction of these companies was almost certain to block the entry of consumers who generate their own energy.
    It was too good to be true!

  15. According to information, they are putting up trade barriers and making it as difficult as possible to approve Distributed Generation plants.
    In addition to financial losses, companies harm the environment.

    Report these distributors that need to make investments in their networks, they have to increase storage capacity and inform ANAEL of the problems of these distributors.

  16. I've heard it all, but the concessionaires' claim of lack of capacity to absorb energy generated by homes went too far. Excess consumption and consequently a lack of energy are common. Lack of energy storage, that hurt.
    We have to live with these dark times. How long will it last?

  17. Finally, a report on the conduct of companies that want us to be enslaved and pay a lot for the terrible service they provide.

  18. WHEN FINALLY, THE LAWS, ONLY FOR THE POOR IN BRAZIL,

    WILL THEY PUSH AANELL AND THE DISTRIBUTOR COMPANIES INTO A CELL???

    THE ROLE OF THIS “GANG” AND OF A PURCHASABLE SENATE, AND AN EQUAL CONGRESS, IS TO MAKE THIS GIFT TO SOCIETY AND THE EARTH’S BIOSPHERE,

    IN A PROJECT, NOT DEAD… AND LOOK, WITH EFFECTIVE LIFE, ONLY 9 YEARS AGO

    (ECONOMIC VIABILITY)

    THEREFORE BRAZIL, EITHER THESE “CATERVAS” ADAPT, OR WE SHUT DOWN AANELL,

    AND DISTRIBUTORS TRANSFER THEIR CONTRACTS TO DOZENS OF COMPANIES
    WORTHY FOREIGN DISTRIBUTORS,

    WHO DROOL OVER THE BRAZILIAN MARKET!!!

  19. As a seller of photovoltaic systems, I express my total repudiation of this practice by distributors of making the work of integrators difficult just to implement their own DG systems in the MARKET.

  20. The utilities have already made a lot of money from the general public, but the deal is over. If they do not continue to receive solar energy, I propose that the government make it easier for consumers to buy batteries so they can store this energy at home and use it at night, and also encourage wind power production and gradually reduce hydroelectric production as home production increases. The utilities have to accept the new reality of energy production in the country! The people have woken up and there is no going back.
