Energy trader Ecom and Evo Energia have entered into a strategic partnership with WEG to provide energy storage services in Brazil. The initiative comes at an opportune time, with demand for BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) solutions expected to grow significantly in the coming years.

“The g of this MOU [Memorandum of Understanding] represents an important milestone for Ecom Energia, as, in addition to contributing to the operational stability of our customers, we are also offering an innovative solution that can transform the way companies deal with energy quality”, highlights Paulo Toledo, CO-CEO and founder of Ecom Energia.

According to Bloomberg NEF, the global stationary battery market is expected to grow 15-fold by 2030, reaching 1,1 TWh of installed capacity. In Brazil, the consumer storage segment is expected to receive more than R$22,5 billion in investments in the same period, according to a study by energy consultancy Greener.

According to Greener, the main motivation for adopting these systems in the country is protection against power outages and interruptions, which cause millions in losses to companies and consumers.

“The combination of WEG's BESS with Ecom Energia's product and service platform represents an intelligent and complete solution to meet the growing demand for more efficient and sustainable energy management, positioning companies as protagonists in the country's energy transition”, says Carlos Grillo, Superintendent of WEG Digital and Systems.
